In 2001, Glen Munson was named California's "Instructor of the Year". But, he found that too many schools he visited, and had heard about, were simply "rubber-stamping" teens through the driver education process.

     He soon realized that "training" was not being done, and that many schools were becoming simple "money mills" for their owners. So, in early 2003, he started Statewide Driving School, in Sacramento, as well as the California Driver Education Association, an organization dedicated to furthering professionalism in instructors through training and Continuing Education seminars, all of which are submitted, and then approved, by the Department of Motor Vehicles.

     By utilizing multimedia presentations in both teen classes as well as in instructor seminars, and combining that with "participative lecture" techniques in the classes, he soon earned a reputation throughout the state as the "go-to" person for driver training issues.

     Because of their integrity in training, Statewide Driving School tripled in size in only 18 months of being in business, and the CDEA organization had over 70 members within their first year (California's "oldest" driving school association has been in business for 50 years and has LESS than 70 members!).

     With over 20 years of training and business experience, Glen has inspired other instructors, who now work for them, to TEACH, not just TALK, and to GUIDE, not just RIDE ALONG.
